ATF Requirements

Since 2002, the U.S. Department of Justice's Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms And Explosives (ATF) plays two roles when it comes to firearms:

The ATF requires gun shops to complete and submit a Firearms Transaction Record 4473 (form) on every gun purchase transaction. View 4473 form | ATF FAQ

When considering a firearm purchase, it is a good idea to review/download the 4473 form so you are prepared and understand the information/identification required.

FFL Requirements
The ATF requires all guns to be shipped only to/from Federal Firearms Licensed (FFL) dealers, never directly between individuals. FFL dealers, like Shooter's Nashville, act as transfer agents. Learn more
